The Mobius….
Very sore this morning. I went out to the bus after getting back to the hotel last night to get the printer and my second briefcase. I missed the bottom step getting off the bus and ended up on the pavement with a skinned knee and palm. Printer, briefcase, and bottle of beer from the front cooler survive.
Get Victor off to his radio interview and finish drying laundry. The ride to the venue for Jack and I arrives on time. Meet “Marla”, my contact from The Mobius and map out the afternoon’s Master Class. Good turnout. Scary moments as an audience member suffers a slight stroke during the clinic…losing all control and feeling in his left side His wife arrives quickly after a phone call and they head off to hospital. Find out later that he’s regained some feeling and seems to be doing well.
Marla cooks an organic vegetable curry over pasta, ( about 2 gallons of it, it seems) which goes largely uneaten. The show hits on time and continues to get better. Even tho’ it’s such a small venue and the volume is lower… the band BURNS through the set.
The Mobius has a full Pro-Tools studio and fixed HD cameras for live web-casting and video production. We request that only the first three songs be recorded for archiving. I camp out in the control room to be sure that the system is powered-down after “Victa”.
Settle…load-out…stop at the hotel… and head off to Portland…
